Several years ago, my very good friend shared a quote from Mr. Rogers. I’ve never forgotten it, and it’s an idea that I really try to live by.
You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you have to make choices. Hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are and who you want to become. –Mr. Rogers
Simply prioritizing my time doesn’t really help enough, because there are so many things that I don’t get time to do that are really and truly very important to me. For instance, I am not posting as much as I’d like on this blog, but it’s not for lack of ideas or for lack of desire. It’s simply lack of time. I want more time!!
Okay–onto the “wondrous Wednesday” and the giveaway part of the post today!
I know I’ve mentioned Lila Tueller here before. She’s got a great blog with some great music. And she currently has pictures from her booth at Quilt Market that show off her wonderful fabrics.
Well, I’ve got Lila Tueller’s new line Isabella listed in my shop now–finally got all the info into the computer! I think a giveaway would be a nice way to introduce the fabrics to you. This is the Blue colorway–it’s really a Periwinkle Blue. Quite lovely! The floral fabrics are elegant and unique and a bit whimsical.
I must say that I love Lila Tueller’s designs. I really enjoyed attending her Schoolhouse presentation at Quilt Market where she shared lots of ideas for using her wonderful new fabric line. She had also painted little ceramic necklaces for everyone who attended.
I loved my necklace and it even matched the clothes I brought with me! Originally, I had one with lavender, but the lady next to me wanted to trade. It was a perfect trade! Aqua and coral are two of my favorite colors. Sorry–the necklace isn’t part of the giveaway!
Lila Tueller has two bag patterns that feature the Isabella fabrics. They will be arriving in the shop soon and are excellent in design and function. And the very clever Ms. Tueller has created hardware kits that I will have available so that you don’t have to drive all around town or all over the internet looking for the right clips and hooks in order to make the bags close properly.
Both are what I’d consider big bags–the Cambridge is bordering on huge. I’m not one to carry a large purse, so to some it might be the perfect size for a diaper bag. Once my babies were about a year, I made sure I had a diaper and wipes, and I was good to go–or at least that was usually enough.
I’m giving away 8 Fat Quarters from the Isabella Collection line by Lila Tueller for Riley Blake. (This is her first collection with Riley Blake instead of Moda, by the way.) It will be the 7 fabrics in the Blue colorway shown above, along with one more–there is a nice damask print that’s part of the collection, too. The fabric line has two other colorways–one with pinks and one with coral orange colors. Both are great! One thing I like about the collection is how they fabrics from the different colorways really coordinate well with each other.
If you’d like to enter, please leave a comment telling me something about Mr. Rogers or how you make time for the important things in your life. Or something along those lines. My favorite Mr. Rogers memory of his show is an episode when he makes peanut butter–I remember watching it when I was about 4 years old.
For an extra entry, you can go to my shop website and sign up for my newsletter (sign up is on the left side bar) and let me know with a comment here that you’ve signed up.
Comment by the end of the day on November 20, and I will randomly choose a winner on the 21st and announce it here.
