13 years ago, September 6th, wasn’t actually Labor Day. However, it was my first day of labor–as in giving birth to my baby. And today, I have a 13 year old son who is just about 5′ 10″! He’s grown so quickly!!
I don’t have his baby pictures on my computer–that was before digital cameras were cheap enough for me to have one. But here’s an early shot of him and a current one.
A few years ago, I decided I wanted to make him a quilt. I searched and searched and found a great pattern. This is the pattern that I got.
I never even got so far as buying fabric for it. How sad is that? I still want to make him a quilt, but I think I’ll do something maybe with a computerish theme or something someday for him.
One thing that pattern from Cherry House did do for me, though, was to get me back into quilting. And now, I have my very own online shop where I sell that pattern. And the other day, my son said to me, “Mom, I think it’s cool that you have your own business.” That was pretty cool to me that he told me!!
Happy Labor Day!
