Is the weekend time for you to get a lot accomplished in the way of sewing and such, or is it a time for fun and family? I have my kids with me every other weekend, and they are at their dad’s on alternate weekends. So every weekend when they are away, I have grand notions of sewing up a quilt, maybe a handbag, clothes for the kids, cleaning the house, going out with friends, working on my website and now my blog, too. Needless to say, I don’t get all of that accomplished.
My priorities become time with my friends to keep my spirits up, and then my website/store things, and then my sewing. Sadly, cleaning falls a bit lower on the priority list, much to my mother’s dismay. I’d love to be one of the bloggers that I see finishing a quilt and a tutorial and a purse every week! How do they do that?? I’ll keep working at trying to find the time.
This weekend, I get the chance to stop by a brand new yarn store that is opening up about a mile from my house–woohoo! I have the kids, so I suspect there will be little sewing that gets accomplished. But hopefully a few good moments with the kids. My oldest will be coming home from a week at Boy Scout Camp, too. I’ve missed him for the last week!
I started this quilt two weeks ago, and have it halfway cut out–maybe I’ll be able to finish cutting it out! Do you see that it says, “Make this quilt in a day!”? I wish! But I do love the quilt and the fabrics and the colors. It’s Art Gallery Fabrics Sugar line, and their fabrics are amazing! Some of my favorites for sure!!
What are you up to this weekend?
