We do the standard candy filled heart shaped boxes, some flowers for the girls, hopefully something for the parents
Though the parental units don’t really go out of their way to get too romantic…hmm…maybe we should do something about that, lol!
Yes, my man an I are going to dinner tomorrow night….I hope I am the winner : )
We kind of celebrate. With the kids we talk about it being LOVE day and we tell each other all day about what we love. Then with my husband all I asked is for a box of yummy chocolates…
I celebrate with the kids. We make valentines and eat chocolates. Husband calls it a “fake holiday” so it’s hit or miss with the presents – depending on his mood.
Yes we do! Can’t wait to give our kids their (little) valentines day gifts tomorrow!
I mostly celebrate Valentines Day for my girls, but hubs and I don’t get each other anything. The girls make crafts & cookies/cupcakes
We celebrate, well correction *I* celebrate. This is my daughters first “real” Valentine’s Day (last year she was a newborn) and I made her a Nutmeg Gnome from Bit of Whimsy, an apron styled bib with ruffles and i made some homemade fudge that I cooled in heart molds.
Hubby and I will be enjoying a delicious home cooked meal of rib eyes, aspargus, creamed spinach and at 8:30 when baby goes to sleep I have some brie, crackers, grapEs and chocolate dipped strawberries that we can enjoy.
Fingers crossed I win, i have a few little quilts in mind this year to get me into quilting!!
I don’t celebrate valentines day….my birthday is the next day and I’ve always felt a little cheated by all the valentines hoopla.
Embellished gift bags … adorned with ribbons and filled to the brim with different Valentine’s candy. Also in the gift bag is a big heart full of milk chocolate goodness. Also a special dinner with the family … xooxoxo
Yes, we do celebrate to some extent. Nothing over the top, though. Usually just cards and a nice dinner together at home…
*I* celebrate Valentines Day, but if it weren’t for me, I think most of my family would forget about it.
I try to have a little something special for my husband and the kids. We don’t do candy, but just some small treat. Silly as it may sound, this year’s “treat” is new calendars for everyone.
We do! Sadly my husband is deployed again this year, but the last deployment he arranged a delivery of a dozen roses as well as chocolate covered strawberries to surprise me! He’s always been so much better at Valentines day treats than me, lol! I know it’s usually the other way around, but not in this house!
We celebrate — with the Valentine birthdays in our family. My great Aunt Susie, my sister Carolyn, and then, just a day late, my second son James.
Rachel
We tend not to – we had a nice meal and some chocolates last night, champagne last weekend and our anniversary is coming up. We feel we don’t need one specific day to be romantic. But we may not be representative!!
I do with my little ones!
I passively celebrate Valentine’s Day but don’t go out for dinner or such. It’s too nice to ignore altogether.
My hubby and I usually give each other a card, but not much else. My birthday is in two more weeks so he feels like he gets a pass on Valentine’s day.
I rarely celebrate Valentine’s Day. When I was with my ex, we would go for a nice dinner, but that is about it. The whole hearts and candy thing was never for me. I would sooner have some nice fabric, embroidery floss, and a cup of tea!
Nothing big here. We did go out for lunch on Friday since most of the restaurants will be crazy this weekend and Monday. I had taken a vacation day, so that worked out well. We’ll exchange cards and little presents, but that is it.
Valentine’s Day is pretty low key at our house. My husband and I exchange cards. But this year since I did not send Christmas cards and spent the whole month of January in Florida, we did a photo on the beach Valentine card and sent it to the Christmas list!
what a SWEET giveaway Cathy! We do celebrate as a family…more emphasis on the kids though…I don’t need a particular day of the year to tell/show my husband I love him! Finishing touches on the kids’ valentines dolls tnoight!!
Hubby and I celebrate with flowers and a nice dinner ou somewhere. 43 years worth of celebrating!
We usually get something for each other and go to dinner. This year we are on different shifts so I just fixed us something nice at home today. Thanks!
We rarely celebrate Valentines Day. We’re been married almost 47 years, and usually have a special evening/dinner out. Usually not on Valentines Day, we leave that open to the youngsters.
My hubby and I were married on Valentine’s Day so we also celebrate our Anniversary! We usually do dinner and a movie!
DH and I get little gifts for each other and go out for dinner.
I don’t really celebrate valentines day, might do something with my family but nothing big
It’s just another day in the calendar for me!
We don’t really do much for Valentine’s Day, but I am a sucker for the conversation hearts.
Yes! I love all holidays…especially now that I have little ones to share in the fun!! We always make a fun dessert!
i’ll be doing something special for my toddler – we’ll make valentine’s together and possibly heart-shaped cookies. my husband doesn’t ever do anything to celebrate so winning some fabric would be an awesome valentine’s gift for me!!! thanks for the chance to win.
I have Valentine balloon bouquets for my boys and we’ll have dinner at In and Out. They’re easy to please! And they know how much I love them.
My husband & I have an agreement-everyday is Valentine’s Day, so no, we don’t do anything special on Feb 14!
I love holidays in general, so we do celebrate v-day.
Just something simple, usually dinner and a movie and a card. It’s also my little brother’s birthday (he’s 18 this year!), so it’s a double celebration!
I will have to call middle ground. Where I’m from, you wouldn’t give a valentine to someone unless you were romantically interested in them. So the idea of giving one to your mother totally skeeves me out. But my children are American and “celebrate” mainly at school. It’s not a big holiday in our house though.
What an awesome giveaway! I love Valentines Day and the last few years my honey has been working in another city and only home every other weekend. If we are not together we send each other packages filled with goodies. Mine are always handmade and include cookies and candy. It kinda fun to think about what to pack and I usually start collecting things weeks before.
My boyfriend do try and celebrate, but we’re long distance, so our celebration is usually not on V-day, but whenever we next see each other. Nothing big, a nice dinner and cards.
My husband and I enjoy a nice dinner either at home or out. Nothing too crazy. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’d like to celebrate Valentines Day but my partner says its just a moneymaker for card manufacturers etc (bah humbug!)
I’d just like a day where some appreciation and affection were top of the list!
I’ll probably cook a nice meal all the same, even though I had hoped to be wined and dined this evening, lol. Winning some Pips would certainly make me feel better; thanks for the chance
I don’t really do V day. My man gets off easy
We do for the kids but not between my husband and myself. However just today before he left for work, he gave me chocolate!!
Thank you for a wonderful giveaway.
I was never a real fan of Valentine’s Day… other than the candy. But, my husband has taken it upon himself to change that. So I guess that means I’m learning to like this holiday for more than just a sugar rush.
I’m cooking bison burgers for us tomorrow… let’s hope they come out!
I send valentines to my friends
For the last 7 years my husband and I make a big lasagna on Valentine’s Day and eat it right out of the pan. Thanks for the giveaway!
We usually just celebrate by giving each other store bought cards. This year, I made table runner just for it and I’m making cards on my machine also.
Yes. In college my best buddies and I decided to begin a group called the “Random Hug Patrol” (or RHP) for valentines day. We painted shirts with our RHP symbol (puffy paint of course!) and walked around giving random hugs to people all over campus (we gave them chocolate too). It continues to this day. I have friends who use the RHP way of spreading joy randomly in various ways. We’re now on the second generation of Random Hug Patrol. And while it sounds silly or even awkward, we really made a lot of friends doing it. So many random people on campus that we wouldn’t have met otherwise!
I will help you celebrate Valentine’s Day by entering my name in your giveaway. Ours is fairly quiet here, just sharing the evening together.
Hubby and I always have a nice dinner and take some time out. Nothing huge, just nice time together. Happy valentines and thanks!
Thanks for th giveaway! We were married on Valentine’s Day(7 years Monday) so we go out for dinner and exchange cards!
Hi! My husband and I celebrate Valentine’s Day! I would like to participate in the giveaway!
I don’t celebrate it since I don’t work for Hallmark. Love should be celebrated every day.
We celebrate in a small way – cards, little gifts, that sort of thing. I usually did something special for my daughter when she was little, and this year I’ll be doing something for my granddaughter. My favorite Valentine’s gifts? My hubby hand-painted a card for me one year (still one of my favorites!) and my dad always used to get my sister and I boxes of conversation hearts for V-day. I still have a soft spot in my heart for those!!
Of course! We have a nice dinner, desert included!
We celebrate with cards, sometimes gifts ad sometimes dinner. This year dinner and cards.
how about sort of? is that a good answer? usually valentines day we wake up and wish each other happy valetines day, and then we go about our day, he doesnt buy me anything, and vice versa, because we get things for each other and ourselves all the time. every day is valentines day, same can be said with christmas. we celebrate family at christmas, not gifts. I had a customer come in the other day and tell me he doesnt celebrate valentines with his wife either, because why should he wait for one special day to spoil his wife!
Thanks so much for the chance at the give away, such a cute charm pack! it would go great with the school fabrics I got a while back!
This year it’s all about embracing my littles. We’re keeping it simple with homemade valentines. Happy Valentines Day Cathy!! <3
Sometimes I make a special dessert or put chocolates in my kids lunches. That’s about it!
With three girls in school, I’ve been busy getting valentines cards and little treats ready for their friends. I usually get something small from my hubby and then we order in take-out and watch a movie after the kids go to bed.
ourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
we’ll be celebrating with our four little kids, so nothing too romantic. we made placemats out of construction paper tonight and they had a lot of fun!
Just a card and some acknowledgement of the day. Some years vaentines in the mail to friends. Happy Valentines Day.
I don’t celebrate Valentines day – it’s been a long time since I have, and that was when I was a little kid and we had a celebration at school.
It seems to vary on the year I guess. This year we aren’t really doing anything. Hubby and I have the day off of work, it’s our normal ‘weekend’ so we’ll spend the day together with the kids. I haven’t even gotten him a card and usually I do at least that much!
I make something for my grandkids (outfit or flannel pillowcase … etc.) and make my dh’s favorite dinner (corned beef & cabbage) … and we all exchange cards telling each other how much they are loved.
When my boys were little I used to put a dark chocolate heart covered in red foil on their plates at breakfast to show I loved them. Of course I loved them every day in different ways!
Not really, but I hope I can still enter your giveaway
Sherbet Pips is such a cute line!

I don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, which is to say I don’t do flowers and cards and chocolates and such, but I do wish my friends (and my mom!) Happy V-Day.
I do, however, love celebrating the day *after* Valentine’s – “Discounted Chocolate Day,” wahoo!
(and I ♥ ♥ ♥ me some Sherbet Pips!)
We don’t really do Valentines Day but the children love it (Aged 22, 19 and 16)!!!
We haven’t really ever done anything for Valantines day besides get little cards for the kids to take to school. My husband’s birthday is just after so we celebrate then
Usually we have a special dessert, and the Valentine’s fairy has brought a little gift for my daughter in the past , except so far this year she hasn’t shown up. Oops. mcglen8[at]gmail[dot]com
Well, We don’t celebrate. But it was kind of special when we were younger ;D
We do celebrate Valentine’s…this year little off since I had a baby just over a week ago. We still got the kids a little gift and some candy. My husband also ordered something that is supposed to arrive today, so I’ve been keeping my eye out for the delivery truck.
Thanks for the giveaway!
We definitely celebrate- my sweetie always gets me flowers. Last year we were snowed in and made dinner for ourselves… and gave ourselves some serious food poisoning! This year, we decided to eat out!
We not only celebrate Valentine’s Day but it also marks the anniversary of retirement. 10 years ago it just happened to be the last day of work, woot!
We have candy, special dinner and the bubbly. . .we are still romantics at heart.
We celebrate it with the kids but don’t ever get to do anything as husband and wife.
One day, the kids will be gone and we will have some time to ourselves again.
My spouse and I celebrate holidays by choosing a menu from around the world to serve at our buffet table. We are empty-nesters so it is a small (very small – party of two) dinner party.
This year it was Swedish Smorgaasboard. We opened up cans and jars of Creamed Herring, and Smoked Trout, Chicken Pate and Grain Crackers, etc.! It was easy as pie and so much fun! We pick out a movie rental and have wine or sparkling ciders or amber ales. Some holidays we actually cook! But we tend to save up those restaurant gift cards that family member send and redeem them for gourmet appetizers!
To me, Valentine’s Day is all about the candy. Bring on the box of Chocolates!
I generally don’t celebrate although in years past some of my single friends and I have gotten together for S.A.D. (Singles Awareness Day) dinners.
We dont really celebrate too much, but I usually try to cook something fancy for dinner.
I celebrate every year, because it’s my birthday!
Thanks for the chance to win. This fabric is too great!

I usually make a nice dinner and some sort of scrumptious goodie for dessert for Valentine’s Day. But Sherbet Pips would be much healthier, lower in calories, and would help satisfy the craving I’ve had for some since first seeing a preview of the design!
I’m a single mum so tend not to receive romantic gifts, but I always try and make a special dinner for my children
I love to celebrate every holiday! This year I haven’t done much since there’s a new baby around!
The hubby and I celebrated with wings ‘n beer – last night. He’s in the u.s.army and had to leave forcthe week today
Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
Happy valentines day!
My husband and I have never gone out on V-day- too crowded in restaurants. We just exchange cards and sometimes there is candy or flowers or we do something together- no big deal at our house.
We do some of the usual Valentine’s day gifts, candy and hearts. I only have 1 at home now but managed to see everyone over the weekend to give them their valentines.
Making cupcakes is about it.
I made the kids some pink scrambled eggs and pink milk for breakfast this morning.

No Valentine’s Day for me. My husband and I love each other everyday!
Happy single gal here, but I did take advantage of the buy one, get one free Valentine’s Day special at Yogurt Mountain today. Delicious!
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day per se, but we do appreciate the excuse to eat more chocolate!
I always do 3 things for V Day – I bake something in the shape of a heart for my son & his family – this year it is brownies cut out with a heart cutter; I buy my hubby special chocolates; and I buy myself flowers – lol – this year I bought red carnations.
I sure do- and despite my careful planning, my sweetie’s gift just arrived today! I’m so relieved.
Also? My love of sherbet pips is beyond words- fitting for today!
i do! my boyfriend and i go to our favorite thai food place (i always order the green mussels and the mango shrimp salad!) and then go to our favorite ice cream place (mashti malone’s in hollywood — a really great place!)
Well we used to exchange gifts when we first got married but we don’t anymore now we have children in the picture plus our wedding anniversary is only 5 days afterwards. Valentine’s day isn’t as big here as it is in the US.
We don’t make a big deal about Valentine’s but there is usually some chocolate and flowers to sweeten the day!
Yes, we celebrate Valentine’s but with silly little things. : ) Nothing major but lots of minor lovely-ness.
Sweet giveaway! We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day. Just a fun dinner with the family.
My husband and I usually swap little gifts (mugs, candies) over morning coffee. Simple and sweet!
I just found your blog from a link at Little Bluebell.
We celebrate the day quietly, just the way we like it ♥
